The house is fitted with smart speakers and smart controls for the central heating and lights in the living room.
If you are not comfortable using smart equipment, fear not, everything can be used in the conventional way. Each light socket has a clearly marked stand-by button on the side which will power it on.
The white speaker in the front room is a Google Home and will respond to your voice commands. You can ask questions, ask to turn the heating up or down and ask to turn lights in the living room on or off.
To use the speak simply say "Hey Google" or "Ok Google". You will see the lights on the top of the speaker react and it is now waiting for your command.
The lights in the living room are called TV light, Dresser light and Sofa light. You can operate them all at the same time by using 'Living room'. So for example "Hey Google, turn on the living room lights" will turn them all on.
You can ask for the heating to be turned up or down in the same way.
You can ask questions such as "Ok Google, what's the weather going to be like today" or "Hey Google, what time is sunset today".
You can ask to play radio stations or music or you can cast your own music to the speaker. Open your own music app on your phone and tap the cast symbol selecting 'Living Room Speaker'.
There is a Google Home Mini in the master bedroom and kitchen which will work in exactly the same way as the main speaker. When referring to then, they are called the 'Bedroom Speaker' and 'Kitchen Speaker' respectively.
The three speakers work together and the one that hears your command the clearest will respond.
If you would like to hear music throughout the house say "Hey Google, play music on all speakers." and if you want it to stop simplay say "Hey Google, stop."
To turn the volume up or down simply ask or on the Living Room Speaker run your finger in a clockwise or anticlockwise motion on the top as appropriate. On the the two minis tap one side of the other for volume up and down.
