Most of the big Island attractions have their own parking but some rely on visitors using the public parking areas.
The Island has a very good bus network which serves the whole Island. There is a bus stop to the right of the bottom of the alleyway from which you can catch a bus to many of the Island destinations. You can use Google Maps to get live departure times from this and every bus stop on the Island. Google Maps will also be able to plan a route for you using public transport. Visitors tickets are available which provide good value for money and travelling by bus is a great way to see the Island. They can be bought at www.islandbuses.info and often on the buses as you board. Contactless card payments are now accepted on our buses.
The Island railway runs down the east side of the island between Ryde and Shanklin. The bus and train times are connected and will often run well together. The trains are also timed to the catamaran service from Ryde Pier Head. Live departure times for all stations can be found here.
Bicycle Island is the Isle Of Wight cycling information service. A number of short and whole day routes are available.
A new e-scooter hire service now operates in Cowes, Newport and Ryde. For more details go here.
